Multnomah County Real Estate Market Sees Sales Down | Published: 6/24/2016 | Homesnap Real...

Home sales in the Multnomah County market dipped below its average sales volume for the prior 12-month period. In this week's report, they slid 8.4% to 918 homes sold over the last 30 days. Meanwhile, Washington County reported 806 home sales, the highest number from all the surrounding counties. The median sales price rose to $366,775 over the latest reporting period for Multnomah County, up from $363,125. Despite the slip in sales, a relatively low two months of inventory indicates that Multnomah County is a solid seller's market.

The Multnomah County market slowed with a 6.4% sales drop in this week's report. Overall sales numbers for the last 30 days fell below the 970.9 monthly average with 950 homes sold. Meanwhile, Washington County reported 782 home sales, the highest number from all the surrounding counties. The median sales price rose to $364,375, up from last week's $363,750. With only two months of inventory to sell, Multnomah County is a solid seller's market, in spite of the dip in sales.

Sales have fallen this week to 954 homes sold over the last 30 days, and there is also a determined upward trend of new listings, with 1,608 going live in the same time frame. Potential buyers should note that prices are coming down in Multnomah County, and for this period the median sales price slid from $375,000 to $365,000. While sales continued a seven-week positive trend, bringing this week's numbers up to 905 homes sold over the last 30 days, price reductions are at the highest they've been since December, with 528 reported over the same period. In comparison, Washington County had 479 price reductions in the same time frame, the most of all nearby counties. The median sales price rose to $375,000 over the latest reporting period for Multnomah County, up from $365,900.
